YOUR LIFE • REAL FOOD

Your Life. Real Food.

Simple real-food guidance for busy, physical, real-world days.

Hi 👋

EAT REAL FOOD.
CUT THE SUGAR.
FEEL THE DIFFERENCE.

This app helps you reduce sugar and get back to eating actual food.

You don’t have to follow a strict low-carb or carnivore diet.

Start making better choices now — and you may be surprised by the difference it makes to your everyday life.

THE UNTOLD STORY ON TOO MANY HEADSTONES:

“I ATE SHITE FOOD.”

You can’t change yesterday’s choices.
You can change what you eat today.

YOUR LIFE. REAL FOOD.

🎯 TODAY’S FOCUS
Keep it simple: proper food, water, and one good choice at a time.

Why I built this app

I'm Matthew Pearson, a working plasterer — M Pearson Plastering Glasgow.

This app was built because I could no longer deal with the pain in my knee joints and I knew I needed to make changes to my diet.

I started questioning how much sugar and ultra-processed food had become normal in everyday working life. I began reducing sugar, paying attention to carbohydrate and moving toward simpler, real food. In my own experience, one of the biggest changes I noticed was reduced joint pain.

That made me want to understand more — not just what the label calls “sugar,” but what happens to digestible carbohydrate after we eat it.

This is my experience, not a medical promise.
I'm not saying changing your diet or removing sugar cures joint pain. The point of this app is to help you understand your own food, habits and working day so you can make informed choices.

The idea

We don't want to tell you that you've failed.

If you eat a bagel, crisps or ice cream, the app explains what is in it. If you're living on packaged convenience food, it helps you recognise the pattern.

Then it shows you simpler whole-food alternatives and asks you to change one thing at a time.

1
REAL FOOD

Start moving back toward recognisable, minimally processed food.

2
UNDERSTAND SUGAR

Look beyond “of which sugars” and understand digestible carbohydrate too.

3
QUESTION ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD

Don't assume something is healthy because the packet or advertising says it is.

4
CHANGE ONE HABIT

Make something achievable today rather than chasing perfection.

5
SEE HOW YOU FEEL

Track energy, hunger, cravings, work demands and how the day actually felt.

I'm hungry — what do I eat?

🥩 Foods for a Healthy Diet

REAL FOOD. SIMPLE CHOICES.

KEEP IT SIMPLE:
Build meals mainly around protein-rich whole foods. Keep sugar, refined carbohydrate and ultra-processed food low.

🟢 MAIN FOODS

Meat: beef, steak, mince, burgers made from 100% beef, lamb, pork, bacon with no added sugar, chicken, turkey, duck, venison, rabbit and other unprocessed meats.

Fish & seafood: salmon, mackerel, sardines, tuna, cod, haddock, trout, sea bass, herring, anchovies, prawns, crab, lobster and other plain seafood.

Eggs: chicken, duck and quail eggs.

Animal fats & dairy: butter, ghee, mature cheese, Parmesan, Brie, Camembert and other low-sugar cheeses. Check labels.

🟡 SMALL AMOUNTS

Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, kale, lettuce, cucumber, courgette, asparagus, mushrooms, celery, avocado, olives, peppers and tomatoes.

Why small amounts? These foods contain carbohydrate to varying degrees. Choose the amount that suits your goals and how you feel.

🟠 WATCH THE CARBS

Onions, carrots, beetroot, peas, sweetcorn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans, lentils, chickpeas, most fruit, milk and sweetened yoghurt.

These can add considerably more carbohydrate than meat, fish or eggs. If you're eating very low carb, portion size matters.

🔴 LIMIT / AVOID

Sugar, sweets, cakes, biscuits, bread, rolls, wraps, pasta, rice, cereals, pastries, sugary drinks, fruit juice, smoothies, syrups, sweet sauces, crisps and ultra-processed snack foods.

PLANT FOODS: Plants naturally contain compounds such as oxalates and lectins. Calling vegetables generally “toxic” would overstate the evidence, so this guide focuses instead on carbohydrate content, processing and simple whole-food choices.

💪 Extras & Supplements

To help you between meals.

REAL FOOD FIRST.
These are simply useful extras for busy days, work or when you need something between meals.

🥩 Bovine Protein

A convenient protein option when a proper meal isn't practical.

Example: WillPowders / WillPowder Health bovine protein. Check the current label for ingredients, carbohydrate and sugar before choosing.

💧 Electrolytes

Useful when you are sweating heavily, working physically or eating very low carb.

Look for simple electrolyte products without unnecessary added sugar. Supplements aren't a substitute for normal hydration or a balanced diet.

🥩 Biltong & Protein Snacks

Easy grab-and-go protein for the van, work or between meals.

Look for: biltong, cooked meat, boiled eggs, cheese and other simple protein snacks. Check biltong and jerky labels because some contain added sugar.

🔎 Quick Rule

Protein first. Low sugar. Simple ingredients.

If the ingredient list is huge or sugar is near the top, look for a simpler option.

Estimate only: the app uses typical portions. For bread, crisps, pizza and similar foods, the figure also includes digestible starch that can be broken down into glucose. It is not claiming all of that carbohydrate is table sugar.
